Fruit of a Different Kind

I remember memorizing the “Fruit of the Spirit” scripture for a Sunday School contest.  The prize was a bracelet that I still have 56 years later!  Since I have a new metal stamping kit I have been dreaming up projects to play with it.  I got the idea to make a pear shape in ArtEmboss and cut bands with the words I memorized so many years ago on each section.

Cut a pear shape in ArtEmboss metal sheeting and make grooves in it for the sections.  I print out the words so I get an idea how the words will fit.

When I got my metal stamping set, I printed out different fonts until I found the one that matched the metal stamps.  I wrote the font size on the kit box in case I forget! It is really handy to print out the text to avoid spelling errors and get spacing correct.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERATo assemble the pear, cut out a paper pear so you can hot glue the pieces in their order on the background piece of paper.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI put the cute little pear it in a dollar store frame that was painted with a pretty green alcohol ink from Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Kit . I think I will wrap this up in pretty paper and give this to my friend Sue at her birthday party Thursday.  She loves anything to do with the Bible AND she loves my handmade creations.

Gold ArtEmboss Pear

ArtEmboss is so handy for many crafts.  I got a package of gold ArtEmboss this week and made another pear.  This time instead of using the metal stamps, I used the wood stylus to write the words, it turned out just as pretty and was a lot faster!

Here is a sneak peak of another  ArtEmboss craft that is coming soon.  This mermaid features a paper clay head and torso and a darling ArtEmboss tail!
