I’m so lucky, Sunrose Gallery features my whimsical hanging lamps in their front window! My lamps have gone to homes in Singapore, the Bahamas, and the latest one is on it’s way right this minute to Los Angeles. That means I had to get busy and make another to fill up the empty spot. I got to use one of my finds from last weeks
garage sales, isn’t serendipity fantastic? The little lamp had 20 of the prism drops and added such a whimsical and fun touch.
First, gather driftwood and make up a “wash” of paint. I have a “paint crush” on Ceramcoat Turquoise which matches the Tiffany Jewelers box perfectly.
You will need a macramé ring, 18 gauge wire, and a .75″ dowel.
Wrap the dowel twice with the wire and then wrap the macramé ring twice, repeating around the ring. The purpose of the wire wrapped loops is to keep the driftwood in place.
I got this pink lamp part at a garage sale recently. I spray painted it white and then a turquoise wash so it matches the lamp.
Wrap the driftwood making a swirl at the bottom so you can attach shells, prisms and dangles. Leave about 1 1/2 inches at the top so you can bend the wire onto the ring.
I played with Borax crystals on some of the shells. Aren’t the crystal balls soooo cute?
This little beauty will be in the window of Sunrose Gallery this weekend!
What a interesting piece. I love it for its uniqueness =)

thanks, the lamps are the evolution of my valances, courtesy of a gallery owner who said “Make A Lamp!” My Etsy shop has the original valance that started the whole lamp thing. https://www.etsy.com/listing/466896630/nod-to-turquoise-turquoise-blue?ref=shop_home_active_4
