The 1990’s were a rough patch in my life. I was a newly single mom of four and had to learn how to trust the Lord more than I ever had. I bought a little poster and put it on my headboard so I would see it before my head hit the pillow: “Angels are watching over me.” And they were!
I have made literally hundreds of hand cast paper angels and will give a hand cast paper tutorial in December featuring angels. However, I picked up this terrific barnacle encrusted shell at a garage sale for a buck a few weeks ago, and thought: Angel skirt!
So I rummaged through the attic and found my old angel candy mold to fill with some paper mash. I compulsively save every scrap of white paper to put in the blender with water …… whirl it for 60 seconds and you have the best paper for a mold.
Scrabble letters wouldn’t fit on the angel, why not pop the letters in the computer printer and make a color copy of them reduced in size? I like the look of “Love” but the “Peace on Earth” banner won. The “Peace on Earth Angel” is going in my inventory for the Merry Mermaid booth at the Holiday Fair in November.
I mellowed the brightness of the shell with white paint and decided to add a glittery edge on the “Peace on Earth” paper banner.
