Don’t hate me for cutting up some pretty belts! I found a little collection of unusual belts that I had stashed away to decorate picture frames. Decorating a wreath frame sounded more fun….especially since I have to come up with MORE Wreathapalooza ideas. I was secretly glad that there weren’t enough belt pieces because I was itching to think of a way to use up gold buttons.
I made some cute little jar doll containers for my buttons and ended up collecting too many gold buttons to fit in the jar. Now was my chance to empty the bowl…YAY! There were 4 belts: black and gold stripe, black patent leather with rhinestones, gold metallic stretchy coins and a 22 inch leather belt that I got at a garage sale years ago from an elderly lady who had the belt made for her when she was a teenager. Her name was Willamena and the belt proclaimed ” Willy”.
I cut 5 inch strips from the Dollar Tree Diamond Wrap and hot glued them in place, then hot glued buttons to the Diamond Wrap. The belt pieces were placed randomly. I am not a matchy-matchy person.
I made the black and gold striped buckle piece the focal and the place where I inserted a pretty gold chain with another chain link as the hanger.
