Oh Dear, it’s only September and I have Christmas on the brain! I am flipping my lid with new inspiration and starting my normal PANIC MODE…… will I get finished….. and will my ideas SELL!
Here at the North Coast of Oregon summer is the season to sell! However fall and the Christmas season comes in as second place. I have four dates crossed on my calendar with a bright red pen so I am zooming into planning mode. (I admit planning is ALMOST as fun and dreaming up new ideas!)
Luminary Arts Gallery in Astoria, Oregon has invited me to be featured artist for their Second Saturday Art Walk in November. The theme is : “When Queens Dance”. Luminary Arts already has consigned my “Queen of Survival” and”Queen of Humor” mixed media pieces that I featured in my blog.
The plan is to make a larger “Dancing Queens” piece and then 10 small queens featuring the “Ten Virtues for the Modern Age” Resilience, Empathy, Patience, Sacrifice, Politeness, Humor, Self-Awareness, Forgiveness, Hope, and Confidence. I am also planning to make 3 paper crowns: Queen of Astoria, Queen of all that Matters, and DIVA.
Every Husbands Nightmare Bazaar in Hillsboro, Oregon is next on the list in November. The inventory list includes my repurposed wreaths, sheet music Christmas trees, driftwood crosses.
Thanksgiving weekend will be my Merry Mermaid booth at the Seaside Convention Center Artist Boutique Sale.
I found this image of a conference at the convention center on the internet because I was trying to remember what color the background drapes were. I have requested a corner booth. Hopefully I will get one, because I want to feature my wreaths hanging on the black curtain, then I will have two curtains!
I am making a LOT of inventory for the Merry Mermaid booth because the leftovers will be transported to my favorite shop Sunrose Gallery and I will be featured artist for their First Saturday December Art Walk! The theme will also be Merry Mermaids at Sunrose.
WHEW! I have a lot of work to do. When panic starts to set in I remember to calm down and just make something every day. I’ll be making more wreaths, sheet music Christmas Trees, my new “The Mermaid in Me” earrings, necklaces, various shell ornaments, and my glass bottles.
Love your crowns! You sound like you are having fun doing things you love!! Happy for you Patty! 💜😊🎨💕
