Boy did I have fun Saturday night at Luminary Arts Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. The Second Saturday ArtWalk is well attended and HIGH ENERGY! I would estimate 400 people came through the doors from 5-8pm. It was a steady stream of folks and many were actually interested in meeting the featured artist. Folks seemed to like my display and told me they saw the photo of my “When Queens Dance” in the “Daily Astorian”.
Luminari Arts Gallery is very fun and it is packed with an eclectic mix of cards, unusual local art and super whimsical giftware. I loved the vignettes Charolette created!
There is a nice spread of treats where super friendly Diane and Debbie offer wine and keep the treat trays full for the ArtWalk visitors.
I talked to so many folks and one fellow was REALLY interested in my feature mixed media piece “When Queens Dance” but I could tell his wife WAS NOT. LOL However we did have sales!
One card doll went out the door!
Bye Bye Artsy Wreath!
Queen of Resilience went to a good home!
Queen of Olde Hippies and Queen of Bad Decisions Sold!
When the clock stuck 8pm Artwalk was over for me, but NOT for the owners. About 25 people were still milling about the gallery. I felt sorry for Dale and Diane who were trying to figure out how to empty the gallery because it had been a 12 hour day for them. I left energized by the enthusiastic reception, Astoria is INTO art!
That sounds like so much fun! 😀
