It’s been a busy week! A few days ago I was bragging about the cool stuff I gathered at some garage sales:
I have been a busy bee repurposing last weekends garage sale finds because I have an anti-hoarding rule!
This washi tape picture frame makeover was so easy! As you can see in the photo, the white frame was in next to perfect condition and I was excited to make something that could use up my massive washi tape collection.
I cut out a tree silhouette from card stock and made a selection of “sunset-y” colors that were inspired by a photo I found by goggling “twilight beach sunset”. My original idea was to toss the blue mat but after photographing the picture with and without the mat….the mat picture won!
The plastic wastebasket was FREE! I turned it into a whimsical piece of art with flowers from a recent magazine + magazine font letters. A little washi tape at the top and bottom (sealed with Mod Podge so it stays) and some fingernail polish leaves.
Everytime I look at this new addition to my studio I hear the song “Oh Happy Day” .
It was easy to turn the ceramic fish tea light cover into a whimsical wind chime with beads, annealed wire (20 gauge), some stained glass (for tinkle) and shells that I painted in bright colors.
I must feed my addiction to ArtEmboss…LOL. A personalized wine bag only takes a few minutes with ArtEmboss and it makes a gift of wine so much more personal. Now I have a pretty jar to store my white buttons!
I saw this whimsical idea on pinterest decorating candles with lightbulbs printed on inkjet sticker paper.
I purchased the downloads from an Etsy shop and got a package of the printable clear sticker paper.
It has been a fun week repurposing these items. Most of them will be staying here in the studio, but Kathy can have the fish windchime and the “Washi Tape Sunset” if she thinks they will be a fit for Sunrose Gallery. I have been checking the classifieds for garage sales this weekend looks like there is a huge estate sale a few miles away! YAY!
