Last month I found some cool fish shaped ice cubes at a local big box store and bought a package to make a fun mixed media piece using copper foil to decorate the fish:

I went to the same store and discovered the fish shaped ice cubes were 1/2 price and couldn’t resist getting more packages because now they were only $1.50! I thought it would be fun to make a whimsical fish wreath to use up my stash of copper wire.
I already had the gold macramé ring and a pretty pearl necklace from a garage sale.
I attached the necklace with a dabs of hot glue around the ring and then started to wrap the copper wire haphazardly. Afterwards I used hot glue to attach each fish.
Finally, I added more copper wire to fill up the wreath with color and texture.

It is fun to think outside of the box and use unexpected craft materials!
That is really neat!

Thanks so much! I’m so glad the ice cubes were 1/2 price because I really wanted to see if my wreath idea would work!
