Thank goodness eclectic is IN! I looked the word up to make sure I actually know what it means : “deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.” I have never been into matchy-matchy and am okay with things being off balance like my living room furniture. My 8″ turquoise naugahyde couch sits too low for the big Queen Anne wing chairs who are on high wood feet. Oh well, their colors fit in my turquoise, barn red and gold color scheme. Eclectic!
Like I tell you, phrases sell and I think some lovely eclectic gal is going to go home soon with this “Be Eclectic” piece I took to Sunrose Gallery here in Seaside, Oregon. PLUS I made a dent in the “broken rhinestone jewelry” drawer decorating this little cat.
I wish I could give credit to the maker of the mosiac cat that I found on pinterest that was the inspiration for it. When photos get repinned, they often lose the credits.
I printed out the shape and mosaic block design and used felt pens to color it…then I decorated it with broken pieces of necklaces and bracelets.
All I had to do to finish my cat was add some magazine fonts and a few Ranger Stickle swirls. When I finished it I texted Cathy at Sunrose Gallery and she said, “bring that cute cat down!'”
