Window Screen Statement Necklace

I’m keeping this one!  This window screen necklace is so easy to make if…. I am not so lazy, I could make one or two for Sunrose Gallery. It only took 1/2 hour to make from beginning to end!

The material list:

Window screen, scissors, hot glue gun and chunky glitter ( Ranger Silver Glass Glitter)

Step One: print out a star shape on card stock and cut it out.  PDF below.

Step Two:  Cut out eight window screen stars.

Step Three: Apply a bead of hot glue on a small section of each star and sprinkle the hot glue with chunky glitter quickly before the glue is set. Get glitter on the front and back edge of each star so the window screen edges are completely covered.  Continue around each star until the edges are completely covered with glitter.

Step Four:  Use six silver jump rings to attach the window screen stars to a necklace chain.  I doubled up some of the stars with one jump ring.  The jump rings easily go thru the window screen and the hot glue prevents them from fraying the screen.

I love how much pizzazz this statement necklace has…it really makes my cozy sweater ready for the holidays!!!

This is an easy OOAK gift to make for the holidays.   Speaking of the holidays, I am inspired to try some more window screen star ideas.  I have a mental picture of a cone shaped tree using these window screen stars in different sizes…hmmmm.
