I had so much fun repuposing a wire vent cover I got in the free box at a garage sale several months ago I was on the lookout for another round screen. I made a whimsical pearl tree and was hooked on upcycling any screens I could find.
I confess: I cheated, I purchased a splatter screen at our local Kitchen Connection to make this beachy keen piece of wall art.
I fell in love with the glass vase filler pieces that I found at Michaels and purchased two colors: mirrored turquoise and clear mirrored. I found a picture of a wave on the internet and used it as my inspiration for the 3D wave.
I took about 100 photos to get a few that showed the actual dimensions!
After the glass was applied with a huge amount of hot glue, I darkened some of the glass pieces with a felt pen and used a brush to blend the color.

Then I used silver cord to wrap the edges where the splatter screen had been removed. I am happy with my wave and it will have a place of honor at Sunrose Gallery in Seaside, Oregon.
As one who loves the ocean, this is very cool!

Thanks, I love the ocean too! I take a walk along the beach almost every day. Who can get tired of watching waves? LOL
