It is so fun to use unexpected craft materials in mixed media collages. The pieces in a metal belt and hat lapel pin were perfect to give the illusion of movement in this Audrey Hepburn piece.
I took the metal belt apart and gave the hat a trim with my wire cutters because the bowl was too pointed to fit Audrey’s head.
It was easy to clip off the metal pieces and trim the top of the hat with wire cutters.
I enlarged an actual Audrey Heburn stamp and printed it. Her top is glitter cardstock and a pretty broken necklace rhinestone piece decorates her neck.
I painted the metal elements black and attached them to the cardstock skirt to simulate twirling.
Did you know twirling or spinning around is in the Bible?
The Hebrew word for “rejoice” is “gil” the word describes how God rejoices over us! It is with uncontainable joy, singing, dancing, leaping and spinning around with joy!
“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” Zeph 3:17
Can you imagine God spinning around over you?
“Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.” 1 Chron 16:31 The earth spins around!
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Ps 118:24 I can imagine King David saying those words and twirling before the Lord.
Happy Twirling!
