I made the mistake of opening the drawer of white plastic headband blanks and saw how big the stack is. Inspiration often comes to me when I have find a use for the contents of a drawer, and that is how these bachelorette fascinators came to be.
I found plastic ring shot glasses on Ebay and thought they would look cute glued at a jaunty angle with tulle, feathers and silver pipe cleaners.
Step One: Use hot glue to attach the shot glass to the head band. Hold it until the hot glue has cooled.
Step Two: Cover the headband and ring section completely with white glue. Cover the glue with silver glitter.
Step Three: Cut a 12″ piece of tulle and fold it into quarters and fold the corner under 1/2″ and glue at the ring base.
Step Four: Fold a silver pipe cleaner in half and make swirls at each end.
Step Five: Gather the pipe cleaner and two or three white feathers. Hot glue them together at the bottom. After the glue is set, put a dab of hot glue on the end and tuck into the space between the tulle and the ring base.
Step Six: Print out a little banner that says “Last Fling Before the Ring” or “He Put a Ring on It.” Attach the banner with two dabs of hot glue to the silver pipe cleaner.
I had fun making a pink and red tulle version and I am looking on the internet to see if I can find some sassier sayings to finish them.
You are extremely creative, Patty! It’s quite a talent that the Lord has given you!
