“Seize the Day”…becomes Squeeze the Day!  I guess the movie “Dead Poet’s Society” starring Robin Williams brought the phrase into popular culture in 1986.  The exact quote from the movie is: ‘ Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary’.

I never saw the movie, but saw Carpe Diem mugs at the Bon Marche and was informed those words meant “Seize the Day”.  To attack the day’s efforts with vigor and purpose.

Huh. I have a confession: I a compulsive list maker.  LOL. I don’t need much encouragment to squeeze as much as I can out of each day because the feeling of accomplishment is what makes me happy.  I like making lists of things that need to get accomplished and crossing them off with a fat black permanent marker.  DONE!

I decided to make a greeting card with lemons to squeeze because sometimes life hands us lemons when we are not in the mood for lemonade!  But we can still find a way to squeeze the most out of everyday even when we don’t have an appetite for sour circumstances or….lemons.  That is a recipe for happiness!

“This is the day that the Lord has made, I will be glad and rejoice in it.” Psalm 118:24  If we remember this verse, it puts a new perspective on each day and we can be sure the Lord has a purpose for us to accomplish too.

I made this greeting card with a washi tape border and some clip art lemons, it prints out on a full sheet of cardstock.  You will need to trim 1/2″ off the top, and both sides and 1″ on the bottom for it to fit a greeting card (A7) envelope.

So remember to “Squeeze the Day”!
