Isn’t this Victorian Christmas tree image so romantic? Since I am selling stuff at a Christmas bazaar this year I decided to make several variations using this Christmas tree with the chalkboard numbers. The base of this advent calendar is a sheet metal shingle I get at Ace hardware for $1.58.
I found these darling rhinestone gems at Michael’s Craft Store and used them to give some wood buttons an upgrade! The buttons look more like “ornaments” with the rhinestones.
Since this advent calendar is going to be priced at the low end, I didn’t decorate the tree with anything more than some Ranger Stickles.
I use glue stick to attach the chalkboard numbers to the calendar.
Step One: Use spray paint on the sheet metal shingle and let dry.
Step Two: Print out tree and chalkboard numbers and cut out.
Step Three: Put magnets on the backs of buttons.
Step Four: Use glue stick to adhere tree and chalkboard numbers.
Step Five: Decorate the tree and add a hanger to the top.
Enjoy!
I’ve made two of these on metal trays, like the one you posted last year. They are very pretty, no matter what type of base the tree is on.
