It’s funny how serendipity leads! This spring season I got in the mood to take stock of all the baskets and shoe boxes of junk I have! I decided it was time to let go of some of my stuff and try to sell it on Etsy.
I spread out the junk in what the photography community calls a Flat Lay. It was so fun to make a flat lay photo and after all the junk was listed on Etsy, I just had to work on a flat lay greeting card idea. FYI: I have sold most of my junk as a bonus!
My mom loves homemade cards! So I decided to make her Mother’s Day Card as my first flat lay card project.
I gathered several styles and colors of lace, ribbon roses and some faux raspberries to form the frame. Next I scanned the pretty seed packet into my computer and changed the gold band from the actual seed company to “Mother’s Flower Garden Seed Co.”
The other change was the official name of the flowers to “I’m Her Little Wild Flower.” I used a silk flower pansy as a frame for her glass marble face and finished the flat lay with some pretty clip art butterfly wings.
Mothers do what mothers do…they teach us how to bloom without us never knowing we are being taught! I learned by watching my Mom value a clean house and being taught how to accomplish that. “Start at a corner and work your way around.” I saw an open Bible on her bed everyday. (Never any dust on her Bible!) She valued good wholesome ingredients in our meals. I was being given the tools to have a successful life, learning good character plus how to treat others with kindness and respect. THANKS MOM…I love YOU! I thank the Lord everyday for His plan that she was my mother!
Mothers plant seeds in us and water them by showing by example and encouraging us when we are going in the right direction. I guess I turned out okay! LOL And I am trying to “bloom where I am planted.”
I decided to make a free printable for you to print and share with your mother you can print it out as many times as you want.
