Repurposed Vogue Magazine Cover Craft #3: Vogue Necklace

vogue necklace Christmas 1924 feature

I might keep this sassy little necklace!  It was so fun to dream up and went together in about a half hour.

This is the image than inspired the necklace.  It was the magazine cover for the Christmas 1924 issue of Vogue Magazine.  I just love black and burgandy together and visualized the curtain as the feature for the necklace.

Step One: Attach the image to a piece of tin with a glue stick intended for metal and cut out.  Punch holes so you will be able to attach the necklace chain and beads.

Step Two: Cover the top with a coat of Diamond Glaze (or Mod Podge).

I buy jars of junk jewelry at Goodwill and find a fun mix of mismatched pieces.  I love the whimsy of mismatching.

I just realized one of the bead strands was “twerky” for all my photos.  RATS! the pieces actually line up in real life.
