I am used to dabbling in mixed media collage where everything is glued down permanently. Recently I have been experimenting with “flat lays”. I cleaned my studio recently and decided to part with some of my huge collection of images and junky stuff. I got a piece of foam core board and laid out the supplies.
I made 17 of these flat lays and put them in my Etsy Shop. they are sure fun to make and photograph, plus some have already sold!
I have a package of these really fun star shaped clothespins and decided to play with bakers string wrapped around some cardstock. Since the string was white and purple I printed out the font to match.
It was really easy to finish the composition with some little stars I got at a garage sale.
All that was left was to take a photograph and use my photo software to make the printable card. I find it very relaxing but a little challenging to adjust the contrast and sharpness of the photograph. I am sure I have a long ways to go to get the photography dailed in, but until I get an expensive camera I will be happy with my first result.
