When I Googled “lucky day” to get some ideas for my greeting card I came across some thought provoking quotes:
“Fools wait for a lucky day, but everyday is a lucky day for an industrious man.”
“Forget mistakes. Forget failure. Forget everything except what you’re going to do now and do it. Today is your lucky day”
“The best luck of all is the luck you make for yourself.”
“Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.”
“Maybe I’m lucky to be going so slowly, because I may be going in the wrong direction”
“When I work fourteen hours a day, seven days a week, I get lucky.”
I tend to consider that I am “blessed” rather than lucky. Because I believe my life and circumstances are in my Lord’s hands. But I did have a funny experience several years ago when I felt the “lucky mojo”.
My hubby and I are not gamblers, but we stopped into a casino in Lincoln City, Oregon so he could say “hi” to an old classmate who worked there. On the way out my husband handed me a 5 dollar bill and challenged me to play a lotto machine. I didn’t know how the machine worked other than to put the bill in the slot. It said 5 credits when the bill went in. So I pushed a button and up popped “10 credits”. To his dismay, I punched the button again and he exclaimed too late…”Oh no, you just won $10.00″ knowing that it would be improbable that the amount would increase.”
To our amazement the machine said “30 credits” and I immediately knew how lucky it was to have the amount increase. I pushed the cash out button and we went to the window to get 3 ten dollar bills! That was my lucky day! teehee.
