I was sorting through drawer of last year’s (and maybe two or three more years) unsold Christmas merchandise and found this tin red cardinal bird. I thought it would be great to make a flat lay greeting card!
I’ve made a lot of tin birds through the years and sold them at Sunrose Gallery here in Seaside, Oregon.
The birds are easy to make cutting up colorful tin containers and using cardstock bird heads.
They are assembled with hot glue and supported with a piece of popsicle stick so the cardstock head doesn’t curl.
For this bird I used Christmas tins and a red cardinal cardstock head. Since this tin bird has had more than one chance to sell, it is cool that it can have a re-imagined life as a flat lay greeting card! Enjoy!
