My readers are probably tired of my mixed media assemblages, however since Sunrose Gallery in Seaside, Oregon keeps selling them I will keep my eyes open for the used supplies to make them!
On a recent trip to Tillamook Goodwill I found a wrapped canvas piece of art and a wooden mobile for a price to hard to pass up.
I used two colors of acrylic paint that I rubbed on with my hands to blend. After the paint dried I applied FREE MAGAZINE FONT with Zip Dri glue and used hot glue to attach the fish and garage sale chop sticks. Some Ranger Stickles dresses up the edges with swirls.
Lately I have been tracing two edges of the FREE MAGAZINE FONT letters with black permanent marker to make the letters POP. This project was fast and already has it’s new home at Sunrose Gallery!
I see why they keep selling, they are awesome! I love sushi and I want to make something like this someday! I have some cool sushi fabric and I am thinking I should at least make some potholders out of it!
