I have a hard time tossing plastic packaging because it is free art material! A paper punch can turn that packaging into earrings!  I have a huge amount  of washi tape rolls and a drawer full of old nail polish bottles and so my Washi Tape+Nail Polish earrings were born.

Punch two 2″ discs. Clean the discs with vinegar to remove any oil.

Place a piece of washi tape on the 2″ plastic disc any where you want.  I like mine down the center for this project.  Then paint each side with nail polish. LET DRY. My drawer of nail polish is full of FAST DRY bottles.  If you use fast dry nail polish it will be dry in less than 2 minutes.

FLIP THE DISC OVER TO THE SIDE THAT IS NOT PAINTED WITH THE NAIL POLISH and apply a piece of washi tape to the center of that side.  Now have fun decorating the earring with paint pens!  Use beads and jewelry findings to compliment your washi tape theme.  When all the paint pen décor is fully dry, seal your artwork with a thin coat of Mod Podge on both sides (let one side fully dry before doing the other side).  After that is dry, punch a hole and insert a jump ring to hold the jewelry findings.

Since I used fast dry nail polish, I made each of these earring pairs in 30 minutes!

Don’t throw away plastic packaging, it is a cool unexpected art material!  Have fun.
