UPCYCLED ROCKING CHAIR “I LOVE THE SEA”

I have been so busy working on my garage sale finds from last week, because I want to find more treasures this weekend…and I can’t let stuff stack up!

I was so excited to find this rocking chair that I got for $5.00!  I paid three times that price for the wooden fish.  I found the fabric on ebay and it arrived in time for me to get the chair finished for today’s post!

“I LOVE THE SEA” MAGAZINE FONT AND HAND PAINTED CORAL

I chose cobalt blue and goldenrod yellow as the main color scheme with polka dot accents of mint green and bright red.  Magazine font comes in handy to emphasize the theme.  I drilled holes in the fish and chair top for dowels that are glued in to keep the wooden fish sturdy.

More coral accents on the chair bottom add some flair and I painted two tiny shells powder blue for more interest on the bottom.

This clock was in last weeks Garage Sale Report and I did a quick upcycle with washi tape to coordinate with the shower curtain in our bathroom.

WOW!  It only took 5 minutes to jazz up the clock and it coordinates with the shower curtain.

I am headed to The Daily Astorian right now to see how many garage sales there are this weekend!  Wish me luck!!!
