It has been nice to actually play in the dirt and grow flowers in our front yard! The nasturtiums are going CRAZY and my mini sunflowers are such little show stoppers.
I thought it would be fun to make a greeting card featuring my sunflowers so the first step was taking a photo.
My computer software for editing photos has an “oil painting” option that I used to soften the crispness of the photo so it looked less like a photo and a little like a painting.
Next I printed the closeup of the sunflower on computer vellum paper and cut it out to attach on top of the cardstock sunflower. Hint: if you don’t have vellum paper you can print out the sunflower on cardstock and still make a 3D greeting card.
After printing on the vellum paper, cut it out and secure to the top of the cardstock sunflower with a dab of hot glue. Of course I had to use some brown glitter for the center. This card will really add some sunshine to someone’s day!
